Mt Rainier, 14,410 ft at the summit. On the approach to Seattle, at one point we could see all four of the volcanoes in the area: Rainier, Adams, St Helens, and Hood.

The real thing is far better than any video game, and it teaches focus, patience, and self control.

Sunsets with mist over the golf course in the Appalachians are unforgettable. We were finishing up dinner in the cabin when one of my sons noticed the colors popping! I had to run and grab my camera before the light was gone. Mother Nature put on quite the show!

I made a quick trip to the Grand Canyon over the weekend to hike the Rim 2 Rim trail with my cousins. On Friday night, I sat on the North Rim to capture this image. I watched the trail of headlamps make their way up the South Rim, silently smirking at those suckers because they had to climb that steep face in the dark. 24 hours later, I was one of those suckers! That trail is no joke, but completely worth the effort!

The Hubbard Glacier in Wrangell-St Elias National Park, America’s largest NP, is the largest tidewater glacier. It is 76 miles long, 7 miles wide and 600 feet tall at its terminal face (350 feet exposed above the waterline and 250 feet below the waterline).
